Statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimate that more than 3 million people are injured in auto accidents each year. Many of these injured parties are victims of negligent drivers—motorists who were intoxicated, texting while driving, or otherwise behaving in a way that compromised the safety of those around them.
